Yes — Bullhorn has more than one, depending on what you need candidates to do. For finding and applying to jobs, there's the free Open Source Career Portal (OSCP). For registration, onboarding, timesheets, and keeping their details current, Bullhorn offers self-service candidate portals through its Talent Platform and Bullhorn One suite. Both feed the same Bullhorn ATS and CRM, which keeps a staffing firm's candidate data current without recruiters re-keying it — the same foundation an AI Talent CRM builds engagement on.
The Open Source Career Portal (job search and apply)
The OSCP publishes open jobs from Bullhorn to your website so candidates can search and apply. It's open source under the MIT licence, built with lightweight JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, and customisable: you can choose which job fields display, use custom fields in keyword search, and track candidate behaviour with Google Analytics. It also generates structured data and an XML feed for search engines and job aggregators. A WordPress plugin offers an easier way to run it.
When someone applies:
- New candidates are created in Bullhorn with the status New Lead.
- Existing candidates either have their record updated from the new resume, or the resume is attached without overwriting existing data.
One limitation: the OSCP doesn't support registering without applying to a vacancy. Bullhorn's suggested workaround is a dedicated email address that forwards resumes to its automatic resume parser. Bullhorn One customers can also use a paid Online Employment Application add-on.
Self-service portals (onboarding, time, and profile)
For placed and active candidates, Bullhorn's candidate experience tools go further. Its Talent Platform covers candidate engagement, talent pools, portals, and self-service tools, and Bullhorn positions text, email, and a mobile-accessible self-service portal as the way to reach talent. Bullhorn Connect, launched in 2021, combined registration and onboarding, time and expense, job and interview status, payment information, and credentialing in one mobile-first experience. Placements can log in to a candidate portal to see onboarding documents and timesheets.
Which one do you need?
- Attracting applicants: the OSCP, or a career site from a Bullhorn Marketplace partner.
- Contractors on assignment: the self-service portal, so timesheets, documents, and availability don't run through a recruiter's inbox.
- Re-engaging your database: automation and messaging that prompt past candidates to update their profiles and availability. A portal only helps if people are nudged to use it.
