Does iCIMS Have a CRM? iCIMS CRM (CXM) Explained

3 min read

Yes. iCIMS has a recruiting CRM, currently marketed as iCIMS Candidate Experience Management (CXM) and described by iCIMS as a candidate relationship management system with behaviour-based marketing automation and AI. It is a separate product from the iCIMS applicant tracking system rather than a built-in tab, so whether you "have" it depends on what your organisation licenses. It is aimed at enterprise talent teams running CRM programmes alongside high-volume hiring; lighter options such as an AI Talent CRM cover the same engagement job with less setup.

A quick naming history

iCIMS has renamed its CRM several times, which is why search results look inconsistent:

  • iCIMS Connect — the earlier CRM, now labelled "Legacy CRM" in iCIMS's help community.
  • iCIMS Nurture — introduced in 2019 as the company's new CRM for talent pools.
  • iCIMS CRM and CXM — the current names; iCIMS documentation covers both, and the engagement suite is also referred to as iCIMS Engage.

If a colleague mentions any of these, they are talking about the same job: building and engaging talent pools outside active requisitions.

What the CRM does

  • Talent pools and campaigns: add candidates to pools, then engage them with email and text campaigns, including pre-built or custom behaviour-based campaigns triggered by a candidate's interests.
  • Rediscovery: through its integration with the iCIMS ATS, the CRM automates rediscovery and remarketing to past applicants and alumni.
  • Engagement scoring and AI matching: candidates who interact most are surfaced, and AI-driven skills matching helps compile shortlists.
  • Recruiting events: invitations, registration, on-site or virtual check-in, and post-event follow-up.

ATS and CRM together — or not

iCIMS says CXM integrates with the iCIMS ATS and with other applicant tracking systems, so you can run it on top of a different ATS. In practice, most buyers take it as part of the iCIMS Talent Cloud, where ATS records and CRM engagement share candidate data.

What to check

  • Which CRM product and tier is in your contract — legacy Connect, CRM, or CXM?
  • Is talent rediscovery included, or a separate configuration?
  • Who owns campaigns: recruiters, or a recruitment marketing team?

The CRM is built for scale, which also means setup and ownership take real effort. Smaller teams sometimes find a lighter CRM layer easier to keep active.
