No. LockDown Browser does not show you flags, and neither does Respondus Monitor. The software records the session and reports flagged events to your instructor, who reviews them after the exam. You do not see the flags or the review priority.
LockDown Browser and Monitor are different tools
LockDown Browser locks the testing environment. It blocks other applications, copying and printing, so the exam runs in a controlled window.
Flagging comes from Respondus Monitor, the webcam add-on. Monitor records the session and uses computer vision to flag events. LockDown Browser alone does not watch you through a camera.
What gets flagged
Monitor flags events such as:
- Missing from Frame, when your face leaves the camera view
- A different person in the frame
- A handheld device visible in the frame
Each session gets a Review Priority of Low, Medium or High. The priority tells the instructor which sessions to watch first. The instructor still decides what happened.
What you see and what your instructor sees
You see the exam. During the session, Monitor can warn you when your face cannot be detected by the webcam. Newer versions prompt you to tilt the camera down if only the top of your face is visible. That warning is the only flag-related signal you get.
Your instructor sees the recording, the flagged events and the Review Priority after the exam.
Instructor settings change the picture
Instructors choose the sensitivity level: Strict, Standard or Relaxed. They can also switch off the handheld-device flag, for example when a calculator is allowed. The same behavior can produce different results in two courses because the settings differ.
Respondus says a flag is not proof of cheating. The instructor decides after watching the video. The company reported an 80% cut in false positive flags over a year in 2024.

Ask your instructor after the exam. Explain what happened, and keep your face in frame next time so the recording matches your account.
